When Eolderman Sprow is called to battle by our King, he summons his warriors and the Fyrd to muster to his banner and form the shield wall.
The warriors muster
The shield wall tactic does not require extraordinary skill, being essentially a shoving and fencing match with weapons. Most of our army are the fierce but inexperienced Fyrd; a militia composed of middle class freemen who wield spears. Ordgar’s retained warriors such as Egbert and Ulf carry a sword and wear chainmail.
